University of Opole: Opole Picnic of Science & Namaste Opole

This May 31st in Opole will be marked by many wonderful treats for those seeking unforgettable experiences, all around Kopernik Square – next to Collegium Maius and the Solaris Shopping Centre.

After the recent preview in the form of the Opole Night of Science, we are happy to invite you to join the Opole Festival of Science project’s picnic. During the family event, running from 4 PM to 10 PM, you will be able to attend various booths and take part in games, including those fully in English, many courtesy of our befriended Academic Circle of Britanists and Americanists.

On the stage, you will be able to witness many events, including performances of international song covers courtesy of the finale of the LINGUA FEST contest (which will begin at 5:00 PM) and concerts by two bands: the once nationally banned cult Czech avant-garde group Už Jsme Doma and our country’s own group The Band of Endless Noise, which will perform as support. This part of the event will begin at 7:00 PM and serve as a promotion of the Bohemistics degree program at our faculty, encouraging the study of the Czech language.

At the same time, we are also very pleased to invite you to the Namaste Opole celebration of the Indo-Polish connection and our current Erasmus+ BIP exchange linking Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands. This initiative is intended to promote unity among different cultures and marks the beginning of the Indo-European Education Foundation’s expanded efforts in the area. We will soon share more information about this current project.

We believe that with all of these opportunities, you will definitely find something right up your alley. We are looking forward to enjoy all the prepared attractions with our readers!
