Let’s dance with David Bowie by Dr SÅ‚awomir Kuźnicki

Let’s dance with David Bowie and find out more about this revolutionary artist, through a compelling cultural event hosted by Dr Sławomir Kuźnicki, just days after the tenth anniversary of the popculture legend’s untimely passing.

This open lecture will celebrate the life and artistic legacy of David Bowie, one of the most visionary figures of the modern times. The focus of the meeting was a master of reinvention who constantly redefined fashion and performance through iconic personas such as Ziggy Stardust and the Thin White Duke. His genre-spanning work in music (from rock and soul to experimental and electronic), movies, and even a one-time video game soundtrack project, has influenced generations of creative people across the world.

Dr Sławomir Kuźnicki is an author, literary critic, translator, and lecturer at the University of Opole. His scholarly work focuses on the intersections of literature and music, particularly rock culture and its broader cultural contexts. Throughout his career, he has published monographs on dystopian fiction and literary perspectives on rock music.

The event will take place on 15 January 2026 at 5:45 PM at Kośnego 34 in Opole and is hosted by the Foreign Language Library of the Opole Voivodeship Public Library (Biblioteka Obcojęzyczna WBP Opole) in cooperation with the University of Opole.
