The closing concert of this year’s Drum Fest will feature STARRDUST, a supergroup made up of three rock giants who have ruled stadium stages around the world for decades.
Behind the drum kit will be Matt Starr, a true rhythmic powerhouse and one of the most respected figures in the music industry. His playing has been heard on stage and on albums alongside legends such as Ace Frehley of KISS, Joe Lynn Turner of Rainbow, Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot, and Mr. Big. He has also worked with producers responsible for the success of Metallica, Aerosmith, and AC/DC. Beyond these achievements, Starr is a musician deeply rooted in the world of show business.
Providing the bass foundation and powerful vocals will be Marco Mendoza, a trailblazer in the world of bass guitar. With his charisma and infectious stage energy, he has spent years performing with bands such as Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake, The Dead Daisies, and Ted Nugent. Whether playing for a stadium crowd of 100,000 or in a more intimate setting, Mendoza effortlessly combines hard-rock intensity with a distinctive Latin flair.
Completing the supergroup is Soren Andersen, a Danish guitar virtuoso, composer, and co-owner of the renowned Medley Studios in Copenhagen. a passionate admirer of classic rock, Andersen has been performing around the world for more than 30 years, earning a reputation as Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple’s “secret weapon.” Soren is a true purist and multidisciplinary artist, paying attention to every detail of the sound while bringing an unmistakable fire to his playing.
The STARRDUST concert will bring uncompromising power and stadium-sized sound within arm’s reach, while showcasing impeccable technique, deep bass, crushing riffs, multi-part vocal harmonies, and an extraordinary connection with the audience. This unique, meticulously crafted performance by three musicians who are also accomplished producers promises to be a true musical earthquake. The show will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Concert Hall of the F. Chopin State Music School in Opole, located at 18 Strzelców Bytomskich Street. Tickets are priced at PLN 100.
