Would you like to get to know one of Poland’s U.S. representatives? Do not miss the chance this Friday at 1:00 p.m. to meet Andrew Brennan at the Light Blue Lecture Hall of Collegium Maius!
“It will be a meeting with the Vice Consul of the United States, Andrew Brennan, who will tell us about the possibility of doing an internship, going to camp, or participating in the Work & Travel program”, says Maciej Rasiuk of the Academic Circle of Britanists and Americanists.
“Mr. Brennan has been working in the Foreign Service since 2023, and Poland is his first country to work in. Prior to that, he taught literature, history, and writing for 12 years in Indiana, New York, and North Carolina. Mr. Brennan was born in Michigan and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Albion College and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Earlham College. The most interesting part (at least in my opinion) is that we will have the opportunity to ask him about his work and his experience living in Poland”.
When asked about the process of inviting the special guest, Maciej responded, “It started with one of my friends, a PhD student, who told me that six years ago there was a meeting with a consul, who told them about Camp America, his job, and so on. I thought we could do that again, so I wrote to them, and shortly after, I got a message saying yes, there would be a meeting with a consul. But that message came from the people who organized the meeting six years ago, and as it turned out, I had written to different people. So, we will have a meeting with the consul this Friday, which is December 6th, and in January we will have a meeting with Camp America. Quite a funny coincidence, I would say”.
If you are interested in the aforementioned topics and would like to dive deeper into American culture, our site, alongside the Academic Circle, will be happy to see you at the event. Our hope is to share details about even more interesting meetings with you in the nearest future.
