On Saturday, September 13 at 3 p.m., Ozimek played host to the finale of Superstar 2025 German-language song contest, drawing around 180 young vocalists from across the region, preselected through the earlier online round.
Contestants, divided into three age categories (A, B, and C, from 6 to 21 years old), delivered 34 outstanding performances judged by the jury, consisting of Karina Kupczyk, Julia Chrobok, and Oskar Koziołek-Goetz. The jurors noted the particularly high and even level of competition, saying it made their process very challenging. Before the results were announced, the audience was treated to a performance by the band Keen Flow, whose performances of new and popular songs in three languages were met with great applause.
Every participant received a thank-you gift, while the category winners took home impressive prizes. The show’s team emphasized all of the enthusiastic song performances, particularly strong preparation, and the uplifting atmosphere that pervaded the event.
“My name is Julia Chrobok, and I am one of the jurors in Superstar 2025. […] I have actually been one of the contestants throughout many years. I started, I think, I was like 15 years old when I first came to Superstar and sang a Disney song. […] Then I continued contesting, developing myself, and eventually I made a band with some of my friends. […] Last year we were still contestants, but in a band, and we also had a lot of fun with that. Now I’m 24, so it’s been 10 years with this competition. […] This year I’ve had the pleasure to be a juror and I really enjoyed it. It’s definitely a lot of fun to see kids and older kids sing, observe their song choices, strengths, and areas that might need suggestions. […] It’s so fun because I can imagine myself going through all of that and to look at it from the side of the jury. If I had the opportunity to be a juror next year, I would definitely really like to do it. […] Although it’s very fun, it’s also difficult because you don’t want to make a wrong decision, but I would definitely want to be a juror next year.” – said Julia Chrobok.
Our region has a long Polish-German history, with a vibrant minority community preserving its culture and traditions. The contest was organized by the Social-Cultural Association of Germans in Opole Silesia (SKGD) with financial support from the Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration and the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and Homeland (BMI).
Year after year, Superstar gains more recognition as an important stage for young talent and cultural exchange. Our team was delighted to attend and looks forward to next year’s edition. For students and language learners alike, this contest is not just a competition – it is an invitation to experience music, culture, and community.
