ON-SCREEN #2: Stop Making Sense – University of Opole (Opole Llamas 2025)

And you may find yourself at the University of Opole… watching this one-of-a-kind concert film and seeing the Talking Heads on the big screen this Tuesday – as part of our region’s leading film festival.

Travel back over 40 years with David Byrne, leader of the cult rock band Talking Heads, and Jonathan Demme (of The Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia fame, also known for directing music videos for New Order and Bruce Springsteen) for a true treat for any music fan. The journey to 1983 takes you to Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre, where the band was promoting their Speaking in Tongues album, and lets you hear all the classics they had released up to that point – including Once in a Lifetime and Burning Down the House.

This special screening is part of the international movie festival Opole Llamas 2025: a celebration featuring must-see screenings, competitions, workshops, and events for cinema lovers of all ages and backgrounds (running from October 3–11). Tell your friends, put on warm clothes, bring a blanket, and immerse yourself in the sound. The event will take place on October 7, 2025 (Tuesday) at 8:00 PM at the University of Opole Campus on Oleska Street.
