Last weekend, we went to the Brzeg Cultural Centre and took part in their latest production, “Tribute to Whitney Houston.” The artistic group Loża and their guests left the audience in awe.
Colorful lights, tons of glitter, and great pieces of choreography took the audience back to the decades that passed. The musicians put a lot of effort into their performances, presenting various songs, including those considered the hardest, such as “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” or “All the Man That I Need.”
However, besides these beautiful ballads, we could also listen to pieces that were an invitation to the dance floor. The Performances of “I’m Every Woman,” “Step by Step,” or “Higher Love”, as mixtures of great choreography and energetic voices, made the audience eager to clap their hands and move to the rhythm of the music.
We can’t forget about the scenography, which was a great background for the whole show, and of course the visual effects. These served not only as decoration but also contained elements of Houston’s biography and plenty of fun facts about her (e.g., how she would talk to the dancers in her free time, while likely trying to learn something from them).
The Loża artistic group showed us more than just a compilation of greatest hits; they gave us the story of a great woman and made us see her not only as a character or a legend, but also as a friend, mother, or daughter.
For those interested in future performances of this kind, Brzeg is a town about 40km away from Opole, but there are a lot of great train connections, so it is a wonderful opportunity to visit a new place.
